Camp Rules

Code of Conduct

Assemble in the Badri Shrine Prayer Hall daily at 8:30 AM and 4:00 PM for opening prayers and closing prayers. When sitting on the floor, sit with your legs crossed.

Be in class on time.

Bring your camp folder daily.

Keep shoes on the assigned shoe racks.

Dress code: comfortable outfits may be worn as long as they are appropriate to the Mission atmosphere.

  • No miniskirts.

  • Shirts must be worn at all times.

  • Tops and bottoms must meet at the waist.

  • Shorts and skirts must be of appropriate length. No cut-off jeans please.

  • No halter tops, spaghetti straps or low cut neck line.

  • Clothing should not display profanity or offensive slogans/symbols.

No cell phones in classrooms or shrine: if a child must carry one, it should be turned off for the duration of the session. If parents need to contact you they can call the Mission at 630-654-3370.

No game boys or other electronic/card games in classrooms.

No candy or chewing gum during the session.

Show good manners and consideration in your behavior towards your teachers, elders, host families and fellow students. Greet everyone with "Hari Om".

Do not leave the building or premises without permission from your Acharyas and Camp Director.

Do not waste food. Take only what you can eat.

Cleanliness on the Camp grounds is to be maintained at all times.

Trash is to be deposited in trash cans only.

Respect The Chinmaya Mission Property- Enjoy the flowers but do not pluck them.
