After attending a Gita jnana yajna of Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda, Nishant Mhatre entered into Chinmaya Mission activities as a Bala Vihar student in Ottawa, Canada in 1991.
His spiritual appreciation for Vedanta and involvement in the Mission increased after traveling to CM Trinidad as a CHYK to attend a spiritual retreat conducted by Swami Prakashananda in 2002,
Inspired by Pujya Guruji Swami Tejomayananda, he was blessed to join the intensive two-year Vedanta course at Chinmaya Mission's ashram of 'Sandeepany Sadhanalaya' in Mumbai, India.
Upon completion of the course in September of 2007, the newly initiated Brahmachari Prabhat Chaitanya was posted to Chinmaya Mission Toronto, where he continues his sadhana and offers spiritual discourses. His spiritual interests include reading, music, and travel.
